On October 11th 2019, the Program and IPKO Foundation jointly organized the International Day of the Girl Child. This year's theme "GirlForce: Unscripted, Unstoppable" embodies the idea of girls moving forward from dreaming to achieving. 35 girls from Program’s and IF’s partner schools were part of activities organized on this day. The opening of the event took place in Xhevdet Doda school, with speeches delivered by the school director, UNKT Development Coordinator, and USAID’s Acting Mission Director. Then girls were part of five different workshops: 3D Printer, Laser Cutter, Computerized Sewing Machine, Career Club, and Electronics, that were all led by female teachers and experienced students of Xhevdet Doda school. On the afternoon, IF organized two study visits for girls: one in Telemedicine Center of Kosovo, and another in Jaha Solar Company, to witness how female professionals overcame challenges in professions dominated by men.
